THE GOLDEN RULE: “Up & Down in Two”
A Sandy is only achieved if you go from the sand to the bottom of the cup in exactly two strokes.
- Shot 1: Splash out of the bunker.
- Shot 2: Into the hole (usually a putt).
- Condition: You must finish with a score of Par or Better.
FAIRWAY vs. GREENSIDE
- Greenside: The classic “Up and Down” for Par or better.
- Fairway: Counts only if you hole out in two shots from the trap (e.g., hitting the green and sinking the 1st putt for Birdie).
THE “DOUBLE SANDY”
- Hitting into two different bunkers on the same hole and still scrambling to make Par or Better.
